Our advent calendar got hung up.
Each envelope contains an activity that we will do on that evening as a family.
Each activity is kept a surprise until the envelope is opened.
Some of our decorations are yard sale finds. Others have very special memories attached to them, like this lighted snowman figurine. Christmas 2000, Nick and I had been married only a few months and did not have many Christmas things to decorate with. My dear Aunt Mary brought us a big box filled with some of her extra decorations and lights. In the box was this snowman. Aunt Mary passed away in 2003, but I think of her often, especially at Christmas time.
We did our first advent activity tonight, making snowflakes from coffee filters to decorate the house with.
They were so much fun!
And we didn't stop crafting there.
We made construction paper stockings and a Christmas tree for our fish!
