My fingers are frozen as I type this.
Nick and the kids cleared the snow off the pond the other day with anticipation for Friday night.
The night we would have a cook-out and ice skate on the pond in the dark.
As with most things, nothing goes quite as planned.
Alex and Niyah grew so much this year that their ice skates did not fit. They were so disappointed.
I promised them a trip to the thrift store to look for "new" ones before the ice melts.
Alex led the way up to the pond.
Nater is following the unofficial campfire rule...dessert always comes first!
Niyah helps get the fire going.
Alex loves using his fire making skills that he learned at Boy Scouts.
Nater was excited to try his skates on for the first time.
Nater did really well for his first time ice skating.
Before long, it was starting to look like the 4th of July.
We had such a fun evening and hope to do it again soon.
