Alex just told me that he read somewhere
that a long time ago there used to be Christmas lights that if one
light bulb blew out, the whole strand wouldn't work.
Umm...please define "a long time ago", dear child,
because visions of checking every bulb on the string for 2 hours
and finally throwing the whole thing away in frustration
are flashing through my head right now.
